Pim reading view: Dutch sentences with English translations underneath

Pim is on the App Store and Google Play. It is for reading Dutch you actually want to read. Every Dutch sentence has its English translation right underneath, in its own colour. Hide it for one sentence when you want to test yourself.

Tap a word, learn the word

Tap any word and you hear it, see whether it is de or het, the meaning, the plural and the verb forms. Save it with one tap.

Flashcards that remember the sentence

Pim brings saved words back as flashcards inside the sentence where you met them, on a spaced schedule: words you know come back later, words you miss come back tomorrow.

Say it out loud

Practise speaking any sentence. Pim listens and marks each word as sounded right, almost, or missed.

Built for the exam

Inburgering and KNM reading, with an A2 route of eight chapters and then B1. Free practice-exam links for A2 and B1 are included. You can also scan a page of any Dutch book with your camera and read it the same way.

No account, no ads

Your words and progress stay on your phone. Pim has no sign-in and no advertising.

Questions people ask

Who is Pim for?

Adults who live in the Netherlands, are preparing for the inburgering or naturalisation exam, or just want to read Dutch properly. It is built around reading, not drills.

How much does it cost?

A one-time purchase: $4.99 on the App Store, $5.49 on Google Play. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase, and the app has no ads.

Does it work offline?

The dictionary of over 70,000 words works offline. Speaking practice sends your audio to Azure Speech for scoring, so it needs a connection.
